Meet the Person Behind Next Step

I’m Maria Perez-Huff, founder of Next Step Virtual Solutions. With more than 25 years of experience in operations, membership engagement, executive support, and office management, I help nonprofits, advisors, consultants, and service-based businesses bring greater organization, structure, and follow-through to their operations.

My experience spans nonprofit, higher education, financial services, and administrative operations. Across these environments, I’ve learned that strong operations often happen quietly in the background: clear systems, thoughtful communication, consistent follow-through, and someone making sure important details don’t fall through the cracks.

My path to virtual work also has a personal foundation. I transitioned from traditional office environments to help care for my mother and grandmother, who were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia just six months apart. That experience deepened the values I bring to my work today: service, reliability, compassion, and purpose.

Through Next Step Virtual Solutions, I bring that experience together to provide thoughtful, dependable operational support that gives my clients more time and capacity to focus on the work that needs them most.
